As a real estate attorney, Sarah represents real estate investors in acquiring properties, and landlords in lease disputes and evictions. She regularly assists buyers and sellers of residential and commercial real estate with their transactions. Her experience makes her an excellent choice for a referee in a partition action.

Sarah's real estate practice also includes resolving title defects, such as clearing unreleased liens from title and fixing gaps or "breaks" in chain of title. She has successfully obtained releases and satisfactions of mortgages that have long been paid off but were never removed from title. In the past, she has represented title insurance companies, financial institutions, and individual property owners in these types of matters. She has also represented residential and commercial property owners in real estate fraud cases, and individuals in ownership and boundary disputes. Examples of these types of cases include:

  • representing a purchaser of commercial property in a claim for misrepresentation of triple net rental income by the seller;
  • representing an individual lake property owner in a claim for misrepresentation of boat slip ownership by the seller; and
  • representing an individual property owner in an adverse possession boundary dispute.
